The reader behind the reach

She is not a
demographic box.

She’s a founder, mother, traveller, caregiver and buyer — usually the one holding the whole damn thing together.

BTC is an unapologetic, emotionally intelligent lifestyle magazine for women and LGBTQ+ allies. We champion real stories, raw voices and the kind of reinvention you only earn by living through some shit.

For beauty, wellness, dining, travel and lifestyle brands, that creates an editorial setting with a point of view. Bring an offer or story that belongs in her life.

What does success
look like for you?

More attention, more website visits, more bookings. We’ll agree what matters — and how it can be recorded — before your campaign starts.

01

Visibility

For digital placements, agree which platform-reported views, reach or impressions are available. For print, confirm the edition, placement and distribution plan.

Audience size and print distribution are different from ad views.

02

Website traffic

Use a campaign-specific link for each digital placement and a dedicated QR code for print. Tagged landing-page visits can be identified in your website analytics.

Where available, report link clicks separately from landing-page visits.

03

Bookings & redemptions

Use a BTC-specific offer code in your checkout, booking system or at the till. Your business records uses, completed bookings and the sales attached to that code.

Recorded code use is evidence. A scan or directions click alone is not a verified visit.

Agree the reporting before you book.

Your proposal should name the campaign goal, dates, available metrics and who supplies them. Booking, sales and in-store results require records from your business. Reporting depends on the selected channels and tracking setup.

Subscriber perks

Give readers
a reason to act.

A relevant reader offer can give your campaign a clear next step: book a treatment, try your menu, shop a product or plan a stay.

Ask about a BTC App perk listing with an offer unique to your business. Confirm listing eligibility, duration and any geographic or category exclusivity in your proposal.

Make the response count: set up a dedicated code before launch and record each redemption in your checkout or booking system.

Need creative support or a subscriber perk listing?

In-house ad design and product or lifestyle photography are available. Ask for a scope and quote alongside your placement.

The 2026 rate card lists app business listings at CAD $450/month and notes a free offer. Ask whether that promotion is available and whether your business qualifies before booking.

Before you book

A few fair questions.

What is your click-through rate?

There isn’t one meaningful click-through rate for print, email, web and social combined. Ask for the recent results of the channel and placement you’re considering, including the date range and calculation. Web ad CTR generally compares ad clicks with ad impressions; email click rate often compares unique clickers with delivered emails. Social engagement is a separate metric.

Can you prove people visited my location or used my discount?

A dedicated code recorded at the till, a completed booking or a tracked check-in can establish a recorded response. Your team needs to capture and share those totals. QR scans, page views and directions clicks show interest; they do not independently prove a physical visit. Codes can also be shared, so report attributed responses without claiming every one was an additional sale caused by the ad.

Does search authority mean my ad will get results?

Search visibility can help people discover BTC’s editorial content. Third-party authority scores describe aspects of a website’s search profile; they aren’t Google endorsements or evidence of ad clicks, sales or visits. Campaign results need their own measurement.

Can I start with one placement?

Yes. The 2026 rate card includes one-time print rates and individual web or digital options. Choose a format, confirm the dates and agree a clear reader action before deciding whether to expand.

What happens after I enquire?

We discuss your business, audience, budget and timing, then put together a proposal with placements and pricing. The agreed booking confirms deliverables, deadlines, any creative services and measurement responsibilities. An enquiry does not reserve a placement or commit you to a purchase.
